    You are hopefully visiting this page as you have had the exciting news that your child will be starting Weeke Primary School in September. Throughout this page and via other links, you will be able to navigate your way around in your own time, enabling you to digest the information.

    Having a child start their Primary journey can be such a mindfield of information - using the information provided you can refer back throughout the year. Alternatively, you can contact the school office for any information or clarity.

    Supporting you when your child starts school

    Many of our staff team are parents and have experienced the same challenges when a child is due to start school. At Weeke we want to support you. Please use the information and links below.

    We are pleased to bring to your attention new NHS school and parent resources to ease moving up transitions with a focus on raising children's emotional wellbeing. www.inourplace.co.uk/moving-up is an NHS parent portal for: 

    • easy-to-follow video resources for parents to help support emotional wellbeing during school transitions: with insights from Headteacher of
    • Balsall Common Primary School and NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist (as well as children sharing their thoughts!)
    • online learning and resources with tailored material for supporting children with additional needs and considerations
    • signposts for practical support and ideas to ensure smooth transitions, including information on mobile phone use and technology
    • extensive additional e-learning content for parents on childhood development and emotional health from 0-19+ 

    Helping your child to understand change?

    At Weeke we understand the importance of giving as much support as possible to your child, preparing them to transition to their new environment, new people and new experiences. With this in mind, below are a range of books being read out on video. Alternatively, you can order the books and read to your child.

    When they start in September, we'd really like to know how they got on with the stories and whether they helped.
