Uniform Information

Our children wear the school uniform with pride.

Wearing school colours gives children a sense of identity with the school, which helps to encourage a community spirit. We expect all children to wear the school uniform and thank parents for supporting this.

The school colour is red, and we encourage children to wear it as much as possible. All branded clothing can be ordered from Skoolkit. The school accepts both branded and plain unbranded uniform. Please note that many supermarkets and other clothing stores sell unbranded school uniform such as trousers, skirts, plain white polo shirts and dresses. Good quality second-hand uniform is also available at school. If you are unsure of which size to order, or have any questions about school uniform, please contact the school office.

Please remember that all items must be marked with your child's name. The uniform consists of the following:

White or red or polo shirt
White school shirt
Red school sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece
Grey or black trousers (no jeans or jogging bottoms)
Knee length grey skirt, pinafore dress or trousers/culottes
Grey or black shorts
Red check dress for summer
White, grey or black socks
Red, white, grey or black tights/socks

Shoes/Boots

All shoes/boots need to be flat and suitable for use on the field or playground, enabling your child to run, turn and jump with ease
Winter shoes/boots should be black/brown
In the summer, sandals are permitted
Trainers, Crocs, flip flops and high heels are not permitted

Jewellery/accessories

Ideally a red plain baseball cap or summer hat (mixed colours, sequins and large branding is not permitted). Alternatively, a plain coloured hat.
Sensible hairclips/hairbands may be worn
Nail varnish is not permitted
Stud earrings only please

Sports Wear

Children need to ensure they bring in their PE kit in a suitable bag or drawstring bag. It is most successful if they bring in at the beginning of the term and the staff will send home at an appropriate time in the half-term to be washed and brought back for the next PE lesson:

White Weeke PE t-shirt or house colour plain t-shirt
Red/black shorts
Black/red jogging bottoms for outdoor winter PE
Black/red sweatshirt for outdoor PE (a different sweatshirt from an ordinary uniform)
Trainers

As a school, we have purchased a number of plain white t-shirts which will be given out to those children who do not wear the correct PE kit and the expectation will be that the t-shirt is returned, washed, the next day.

Winter is coming!

As the colder months approach, we'd like to kindly remind you of the importance of maintaining consistency in your child's school uniform attire, even during winter. Ensuring that your child wears the correct school uniform, including plain red jumper or fleece and appropriate footwear, is crucial for several reasons:

Sense of Unity: Uniformity in attire fosters a sense of unity and belonging amongst pupils, promoting equality and reducing distractions in the learning environment.
Identification and Safety: A consistent school uniform makes it easier to identify children, especially during school outings and events. Additionally, appropriate footwear ensures safety during physical activities.
Wet & Cold Protection: Ensuing that your child has well-equipped clothing will really help to keep them warm and dry. Please ensure they have a coat that is at least water-resistant. As it gets colder, a plain red or black beamy/woolly hat will keep the cold at bay.

By adhering to the school uniform guidelines, you not only support the school's values but also contribute to the overall well-being and safety of your child. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child is dressed appropriately for school throughout the summer months.

Uniform - Updated Information

At Weeke Primary school we do not have a Uniform Policy. However, the governing body and staff work closely to ensure that the expectations set consider the cost and protected characteristics of individuals or groups. If a parent or carer wishes to express any concerns regarding the approach or just want to talk through it, please contact the school office or speak to your child's class teacher.
