Weeke Primary School and it's pupils prepare to enjoy a 'wintery' Spring Term of Outdoor Learning.
As the new term begins, Mr. McGettigan and the dedicated staff at Weeke Primary School are excited to announce an enriching programme of outdoor learning that will seamlessly integrate Physical Education (PE), History, Science, Maths and the principles of Forest Schools.
This term, children will have the opportunity to explore the great outdoors, engaging in hands-on learning experiences that foster a deeper understanding of various subjects. From historical understanding of the Ancient Egyptians to scientific investigations of the natural environment, children will be immersed in a curriculum that promotes active learning and curiosity.
Mr. McGettigan emphasises the importance of parental support in this initiative."We encourage all parents to read the attached information carefully and help their child(ren) prepare for outdoor learning, regardless of the weather. Proper clothing and a positive mindset are essential for making the most of these experiences," he stated.
Outdoor learning not only enhances academic understanding but also promotes physical health, teamwork, and resilience. Weeke Primary School is committed to providing an enriching environment where children can thrive, learn, and grow.
Parents are urged to ensure their children are equipped with appropriate outdoor gear, including waterproof jackets, sturdy footwear, and warm layers, to ensure they are ready for any weather conditions. Together, we can make this term an exciting adventure in learning!
