Children and staff experienced an incredible day on Tuesday June 14th when a Royal Navy Lynx helicopter, flown by Commanding Officer Phil Richardson of 815 Royal Navy Air Squadron, Yeovilton, landed on our school field. Commander Richardson was joined by Observer Lieutenant Craig Farquharson. During the two hour visit, each year group had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about the role of the Navy Air Squadron and sit in the helicopter. Children also discovered a little more about how the skills and subjects that they learn in school relate to careers such as a pilot and Observer.

We would like to thank Mrs Hempenstall for putting us in touch with the Navy and arranging this wonderful opportunity, the team at 815 Air Squadron and both Lieutenant Craig Farquharson and Commander Phil Richardson for providing such a memorable and inspirational visit.
